Biography

Lori Driscoll is the Director of Library Services at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida. She recently served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Virtual Campus in its inaugural year and chaired the Library Services Members Council; she is now on the Executive Committee of the Library Services Members Council as the past-chair. Ms. Driscoll was an international copyright advocate for library organizations in the United States, representing the Library Copyright Alliance at the World Intellectual Property Organization's Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights in Geneva, Switzerland for several years. She also continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Panhandle Library Access Network (PLAN).

Previously, Ms. Driscoll was the Chair of Access Services for the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida. While working in this role, her system-wide responsibilities included copyright clearance, electronic reserves, interlibrary loan, remote storage, and circulation policy and automation. In addition, she managed the stacks and circulation/information desk in the largest of the system libraries. She has taught undergraduate information studies courses, facilitated workshops on intellectual property issues, and published books and articles in the field of library services.

Ms. Driscoll graduated with her Masters in Library Science from Florida State University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and certificate in Women's Studies from the University of Florida.
