How to Use This Guide
This is a guide to History resources available through the GCSC Library. Tabs above provide links to resources in various formats to assist you with your information needs.
Citation guides are located under the Citations tab. You should always verify with your instructor the citation styles he or she prefers you to use.
Click on the Help Tab to contact the library or your liaison librarian if you need help or would like to make suggestions about resources and services.
Access Information
To log in to the library databases, use your Library Borrower ID and your PIN.
- For students, your borrower ID is the eight-digit number found on your registration materials, your student ID card, grade sheet from a class, etc.
- For faculty and staff, your borrower ID is your eight-digit GCSC Employee ID as provided by Human Resources.
- Your PIN is your birthday in MMDD format.

Working with a librarian, students will participate in the process of retrieval, appraisal, and synthesis of scholarly information.
Instruction sessions and research consultations are available upon request to assist with research methods, database strategies, citations, and evaluating levels of information including textbooks, case studies, literature reviews, articles, and websites.
